Welcome to Inkbound Editing

Hi! I'm Rachel, founder of Inkbound Editing.

I became a reader long before I became an editor. I grew up with a book in my hand and a stack more on my nightstand, and that hasn't changed. Fiction has always been where I go to escape— to fall in love with characters, get lost in worlds, and stay up way too late because I physically cannot put the book down. That's the experience I want to help you create for your readers.

I come from a background in professional editing and writing, which means I bring real technical precision to every project. But what makes me the right editor for your book isn't just knowing the rules, it's knowing your genre. I read widely across fiction and I care deeply about what makes a story work: the pacing, the emotional beats, the moments that make a reader gasp or cry or immediately flip to the next chapter.

As a line editor and copyeditor, my job isn't to rewrite your book. It's to help your version of it land the way you always intended.  I have a passion for finding the tone and voice in the work I'm editing and finding ways to bring it out. I work to understand your voice before I touch a single sentence because the best editing is invisible. Readers should feel the story, not the edit.

I work with indie authors and self-publishing writers who take their craft seriously and want a collaborative partner in the final stretch of bringing their book to life.

If that sounds like you, I'd love to hear about your manuscript.

Send me a quick note about your project and I’ll reply within two business days. Let me make your writing gleam.
